Endeavor of Love...

Deputies, With Help from HEB  Brighten Christmas for Less Fortunate, LIVINGSTON, December 20, 2017 - Deputies, Dispatchers, Jail Personnel and other workers from the Polk County Sheriff's Office dug deep into their own pockets, and with help from HEB Pantry Foods are making Christmas a little brighter for needy Polk County Families.  "I am so proud to be part of this agency where the officers came together and from their own pockets were able to pool together funds (along with HEB) to help provide families with meals" said Polk County Chief Deputy, Byron Lyons.  The next couple of days, Polk County Sheriff's Deputies will be delivering boxes with turkey, all the trimmings, and gifts to Polk County families who are less fortunate.  Chief Lyons (an ordained minister) is very passionate about the endeavor of love.  "We wanna make sure that as many families as we possibly can are able to have a good Christmas". Additionally, there's a few bikes that will be given to some kids who would otherwise never experience the joy and freedom of a bicycle.

Please watch the videotaped interview with Chief Lyons (below).
