Polk County Welcomes New Veteran's Service Officer, LIVINGSTON, March 31, 2008 - Polk County has a new Veteran's Service Officer. Penny Nelson served as assistant Veteran Service Officer for Polk County since 1998 and has been state certified since 1999. Nelson was appointed Polk County Veteran Service Officer in March of 2008. Penny and her husband Jack moved to Polk County in 1997 from Houston, Texas. Penny has 2 children Randy and Rhonda 7 grandchildren and a beautiful great granddaughter, Lauren.
"I want to thank all the veterans of Polk county and their familes for supporting me. Also Judge Thompson and the Commissioners for choosing me to become the Veteran Service Officer.
