Polk County Sheriff's Office Quickly Cracks Down on 4 Criminals
On October 14, 2008 the Polk County Sheriff's Office received a complaint in reference to a stolen trailer, welding machine, diesel tank, and tool box taken from the Goodrich area valued at $5,500. Detectives received information about a possible location of the stolen property and responded to a residence off of Family Driver in Polk County. Upon arrival, the stolen property was located at the residence which led to the arrest of 27 year old Jay Pinkey Moore of Livingston. Moore was arrested and charged with felony theft, and also had outstanding warrants for possession of a controlled substance and a parole violation.

On October 12, 2008, the Polk County Sheriff's Office received a complaint from the Livingston Emergency Room in reference to a 33 year old female brought in that had been assaulted. Deputies responded to the hospital call and met with the victim who stated that she was assaulted by 33 year old Larry Drury Jr. The victim sustained injuries to most of her body, including fractures to her face and other parts of her head. The victim was transported the trauma unit at Temple Hospital. A search warrant was conducted of the suspect's residence and Larry Drury Jr. was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with other charges pending the outcome of the investigation.

On October 1, 2008, the Polk County Sheriff's Office received information in reference to 35 year old Mark Allen Williams of Onalaska, Texas, trying to sell several firearms that are possibly stolen. Investigators learned that the firearms were stolen from a residence in the Onalaska area and made contact with the owner who did not even know they had been stolen from his residence. Mark Williams was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation and placed the Polk County Jail and a $25,000 bond.

On September 21, 2008, the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance call at the Stanley Cabins on Scenic Loop. Deputies identified the suspect as 23 year old Joshua Norred of Livingston who is a registered sex offender in Polk County. Deputies then learned that the address of where Norred had been living is not the address that he is registered at. Joshua Norred was promptly arrested and charged with failure to register as a sex offender and placed in the Polk County Jail under a $20,000 bond.
