Onalaska Area Burglar Busted by Polk County Detective, ONALASKA, May 17, 2011 - On May 11, 2011, the Polk County Sheriff's Office initiated a criminal investigation into a burglary of habitation that was committed at a residence in the subdivision of Yaupon Cove.
According to Detective Christopher Lima, an immediate investigation was launched that also incorporated the use of Crime Stoppers in soliciting for tips that may have lead to the arrest and location of the stolen property.
The investigation proved to be fruitful as 6 days later (May 17) a search was conducted at a residence in Yaupon Cove. The search turned up property taken during the commission of the burglary.
In addition to the recovery of stolen property, Carl Williams, 18, of Onalaska was placed under arrest and charged with burglary of a habitation in connection with the crime.
