45 year old Phillip Clark Griffin, of Goodrich
45 Year Old Goodrich Man Facing Charges for Allegedly Sexually Assaulting a 14 Year Old, LIVINGSTON, March 15, 2014 - Sheriff Kenneth Hammack reports his Criminal Investigation Division Sex Crimes detectives have arrested 45 year old Phillip Clark Griffin, for the offense of Sexual Assault of a Child.  Griffin is currently out on $25,000 bond from the Polk County Jail.

Sex Crimes Detectives conducted an investigation after a 14 year old female reported being sexually molested by Griffin on numerous occasions in the period from August 2012 to November 2013.

An investigator with the Brazoria County Child Protective Services office contacted a PCSO investigator in November.  The CPS representative told the investigator that the 14-year-old girl had made an outcry to her mother. She told her mother that Griffin had molested the girl at his home.

Sex Crime Detectives stated that Griffin forced the girl to perform numerous sexual acts with him.
A detective interviewed Griffin on Feb. 6, but Griffin denied the allegations at first.  When detectives interviewed two of Griffin's relatives, both relatives said they confronted Griffin about the alleged molestation, and that he admitted to the crime.

Griffin allegedly told one relative, "I'm sorry I did it. I don't know why it happened."

Sheriff Hammack ask that at any time you suspect a child may be a victim of sexual molestation he urges you to contact Lt. Craig Finegan or Detective Christi Allen at 936-327-6810.
