Drug Arrests Made Following Welfare Check on Juvenile at Local Motel, LIVINGSTON, July 3, 2025 - On June 27, 2025, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding the welfare of a juvenile reportedly staying with her mother and the mother’s boyfriend at the Livingston Inn Motel. The tip indicated that illegal narcotics were being used and possibly sold in the motel room.

A night shift supervisor and a deputy quickly responded to the location and obtained the relevant room number from the motel staff. Upon contact, the occupants were identified as Jessica Seagroves Lester (mother), Robert Shannon Pierce (boyfriend), and three additional adults — including the juvenile in question — all present inside a single motel room.

Jessica Lester was informed of the nature of the welfare check and was asked for consent to search the room, which she denied. During further investigation, other occupants admitted that marijuana and methamphetamine were present in the room.

The Polk County Narcotics Division was contacted and responded to the scene. Investigators obtained a search warrant issued by Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, Jamie Richardson. A search of the room revealed methamphetamine, pipes commonly used to smoke methamphetamine, marijuana, and associated paraphernalia.

A male identified as Camron Edward Johnson, who was visiting Jessica and Robert, claimed ownership of the methamphetamine and smoking pipes found concealed under trash.

Interviews conducted on scene revealed that Jessica Lester had knowingly allowed her teenage daughter to smoke marijuana. Combined with the discovery of methamphetamine and the presence of narcotics activity in close proximity to the juvenile, both Jessica Lester and Robert Shannon Pierce were arrested and charged with Abandoning or Endangering a Child (Criminal Negligence). Jessica Lester was also issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Camron Edward Johnson was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance as well as Abandoning or Endangering a Child (Criminal Negligence).

Sheriff Byron Lyons and Chief Deputy Anthony Lowrie reaffirm their commitment to protecting children and holding those accountable who expose minors to dangerous and illegal drug environments. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office will continue to actively pursue individuals involved in the illegal use and distribution of narcotics within our community.
