Wife Allegedly Shoots Husband to Death in Domestic Situation, SOUTHLAND PLANTATION, April 21, 2025 - At approximately 8 pm on Sunday, April 20, 2025, deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence in the Southland Plantation subdivision in response to a reported domestic disturbance. When the deputies arrived, they discovered a female victim who had allegedly been physically assaulted, and a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Sheriff’s Office detectives initiated an immediate investigation and determined that a domestic dispute between a husband and wife had escalated from a verbal confrontation to a physical altercation. During the incident, the female party reportedly obtained a small-caliber firearm and discharged multiple rounds, fatally wounding her husband, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Emergency Medical Services responded and rendered aid to both individuals. The female was subsequently transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and was later released. Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, conducted an inquest and ordered an autopsy to be performed by the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office. Detectives from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Texas Rangers and the Polk County District Attorney’s Office, are currently conducting further investigation. This case and all findings will be presented to a Grand Jury to determine whether criminal charges will be pursued.

At this time, the Sheriff’s Office assures the public that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

That's all the information that we have at this time.  Names of persons involved have not yet been released.
