UPDATE ON ROBBERY / PURSUIT:  We have a picture of the guy who allegedly robbed a Walgreens in Porter on Monday morning, then led police on a lengthy pursuit that entered Polk County, then the suspect did a U-turn on 59 and led police out of Polk County.  The pursuit ended just south of Polk County when his car ran out of gas.  The name of the suspect hasn't been released.

Constables take the guy into custody who allegedly robbed a Walgreens in Porter, then led police on a long pursuit. The pursuit finally ended when his car ran out of gas just south of Polk County.

Robbery/Pursuit Started in Porter Spills Into Polk County, SAN JACINTO COUNTY, March 18, 2024 - Shortly after 11 am PolkCountyToday.com was alerted that there was a pursuit that started in Porter was headed towards Polk County (via Trinity River Bridge).  As we were south-bound on US-59 (near Lakeside Village), the pursuit passed us (on the north-bound side of 59), then quickly turned around headed south again.  The suspect vehicle was finally stopped just south of the Trinity River Bridge in San Jacinto County (near the Covered Wagon).  The driver allegedly robbed a Walgreens in Porter.  Several of our Deputies were set up to spike the tires of the vehicle, and the suspect vehicle reportedly attempted to run over them.  The suspect has been caught and will be facing a list of charges.
