Liberty County Pursuit Ends in Livingston, LIVINGSTON, February 22, 2025 - Shortly after 11 pm on February 21, 2025, the Polk County Sheriff's Office was notified of a pursuit in Liberty County that was coming north-bound on US-146 headed towards Polk County. The pursuit did enter Polk County. Trooper Simon Mijares successfully spiked the suspect car (older model white Ford Focus) at 146 and FM-943. According to radio dispatch, speeds of the pursuit were in the upper 90s mph, and into over 100. Even though the car was spiked, the suspect continued to flee north on 146. The chase entered the Livingston City Limits (still on 146) and the car was successfully spiked a second time by Livingston Police. The chaotic chase headed back south on 146 where the car finally came to a stop on 146 just past Garner Street. The suspect was taken into custody by a Liberty County Trooper (Trooper Nguyen). The suspect vehicle caught fire. Livingston Volunteer Fire Department arrived to put the fire out. The suspect was transported back to Liberty County. The vehicle was recovered by Smith Towing out of Livingston.

A suspect that fled police in Liberty County entered Polk County. The car was spiked twice and the suspect continued to flee on rims.
As the smoking car was sitting in the middle of the road, it caught fire.
The driver was taken into custody (sitting in Trooper's vehicle) and being checked by EMS personnel.
Livingston Volunteer Fire Department put the car fire out.
