About that Oil Spill Yesterday...
The hydraulic oil spill that occurred yesterday in Livingston turned out to be larger than initially reported on this website.  Livingston Firemen were able to trace it back to Old Woodville / Hornets Nest Road.  The trail led all the way down 190 east and ended close to FM-350 North.

Original Story Below

Oil (visible on pavement) reportedly caused a motorscooter accident for a Porter Couple in front of Livingston City Hall.
Oil Spill in Livingston Causes 2 Motorscooter Accidents, Congests Traffic, LIVINGSTON, June 30, 2013 - At around 10 am on June 30, 2013, an oil spill was reported to authorities in Livingston.  A truck was allegedly west-bound on Church Street and was spilling what was reportedly hydraulic oil on the pavement during it's west-bound drive.  Hydraulic oil was spilled (mostly in the right hand lane) all the way from around Livingston City Hall to about the Walmart area.  The oil allegedly was the cause of a motorscooter accident near Burger King and another one in front of City Hall.  The extent of injuries is not known to PolkCountyToday.com.  Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Livingston Police, Texas Highway Patrol, and TXDOT were dispatched.  One lane of traffic was blocked west-bound side of Church Street.  Neither the truck nor the driver that was spilling the oil have yet been caught.  At time of press, (12:15 pm) TXDOT is on the scene and in the process of cleaning up the mess.

On September 17, 2010, there was a major road oil spill in Leggett.

On August 7, 2012 a damaged transformer lost it's load of Oil at the intersection by Burger King.

Special thank you:  Chad Summers
