Livingston Juniour High Teacher Arrested on Drug Charges and Child Endangerment, LIVINGSTON, March 19, 2026 - The Livingston Police Department has arrested a Livingston ISD teacher after illegal drugs were found in a classroom.
On Thursday, March 12, 2026, administrators at Livingston Junior High School notified police about a suspicious substance. Investigators arrived and quickly identified the substance as methamphetamine. Items commonly linked to drug use were also found.
Investigators interviewed witnesses and identified a person of interest, Amanda Stanzel, who had already been taken to a hospital for treatment. On Friday, March 13, officers interviewed Amanda and presented the case to Judge Terri Mayer, who found probable cause and issued two arrest warrants.
On Wednesday, March 18, Amanda was released from the hospital and taken into custody by Livingston Police officers. She was booked into the Polk County Jail on charges of Abandon/Endangering a Child/Elderly/Disabled and Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone.
At this time, there is no evidence that any students came in contact with the drugs.
