Fallen Law Enforcement Honored at IAH Detention Facility, LIVINGSTON, May, 8, 2008 - On Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 12 noon, members of Polk County law enforcement including IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility Staff, attended a special ceremony honoring the fallen members of law enforcement and corrections. This is correctional officers appreciation week. The IAH Honor Guard Team Had a special flag folding in honor of the fallen. IAH Senior Warden Eugene Harbin welcomed all in attendance. Facility chaplin Wesley Self added special prayers for the fallen and current staff, facility ACA manager Michelle Coffin lit a candle in a show of reverence for the families of the fallen corrections and law enforcement officers. Facility Chief Steven Walker Mc'd the events, and in a very moving moment staff member Lisa Nichols Read the names of the fallen as assistant warden Ken Montgomery rang a bell to symbolize their lives. Chaplin Self closed the ceremonies and a luncheon of fried chicken and all the trimmings was enjoyed by all.
