Predator Pleads Guilty, Gets 11 Years, Facing More Charges in Galvenston County, LIVINGSTON, Octobr 15, 2013 - A 48 year old former Livingston High School ROTC instructor was sentenced to eleven years confinement in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on Tuesday for sexually assaulting a 14 year old student. According to Polk County District Attorney Lee Hon, Timothy Everette Glenn pled guilty to the offense in Judge Coker's 258th District Court of Polk County. The investigation began in March of this year when municipal park employees in Texas City reported to the police that they had observed and older man and teenage female engaged in questionable physical contact. Upon investigation by the Texas City Police Department, detectives learned that Glenn had travelled to Galveston County that day to meet with the 14 year old female victim. Upon further interrogation, Glenn confessed to having begun a relationship with the victim (identified as “Paula Doe” in court records) in 2012 while she was under his instruction in the Livingston High School Junior ROTC program. Glenn admitted that the relationship had progressed to physical sexual contact which occurred in Polk County in late 2012 and early 2013. Additional investigation by Texas City and Livingston police revealed written communications including text messages between Glenn and the victim corroborating Glenn’s account of the relationship. Glenn was originally assigned to the Livingston High School ROTC program in 2009 following a lengthy Army career. “Although Glenn had no prior criminal history and had achieved a commendable record in the military, we felt that this prison sentence was appropriate given his exploitive conduct toward a young student who was under his supervision,” Hon stated. “Persons who hold positions of authority and trust over our youth cannot be allowed to take advantage of their position and the trust that parents and members of our community place in them,” Hon added. “Especially as it relates to young, impressionable teens, there is a line that cannot and must not be crossed when it comes to persons who have authority over them,” Hon stated. “I hope this sentence will send a message to others who are responsible for the education and protection of our young people that if you violate that position of trust, you absolutely will be held accountable and punished,” Hon concluded. Under prevailing parole law, Glenn will have to serve a minimum of five and half years without any consideration for good behavior. Any subsequent parole decision will require unanimous approval by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. Glenn will also be subject to a lifetime requirement to register as a sex offender. Charges against Glenn for Attempted Sexual Assault of a Child remain pending in Galveston County.
