Alleged Corrigan Shooter Arrested in Jasper County, JASPER COUNTY, May 20, 2025 - Two days after PolkCountyToday.com received a Crime Stopper Alert from the Corrigan Police Department in reference to a shooting that took place in Corrigan, the alleged shooter was arrested in Jasper County. 32 year old Darius Deshaun Hawthorne, of Woodville (a known felon), was arrested in Jasper County when he walked into Jasper County Sheriff's Office and turned himself in. Hawthorne is the prime suspect in the shooting of another man at the Corrigan Square Apartments (the gunshot victim's name has not been released). The gunshot victim transported to Houston and is reportedly in stable condition. A dispute reportedly broke out between Hawthorne and another man who was complaining about the treatment of his son. Hawthorne will be transported back to Polk County where he'll likely be charged in the shooting. That's all the information that we have at this time.
