Trooper Sean Barnes speaks with the driver, 62 year old Duane Trainer, of Woodville.
Logging Truck Turns Over, BIG SANDY, December 28, 2023 - At approximately 12:20 pm on December 28, 2023, an 18 wheeler logging truck was north-bound on FM-1276 (exactly 3 miles off US-190 East), when the loaded trailer allegedly broke, causing the load of logs to shift, in turn pulling the tractor portion over on its side.  The driver, Duane Trainer, 62, of Woodville, crawled from the wreckage with his dog, "Shorty", neither were injured.  Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with volunteer firemen, Officers from the Alabama Coushatta Police Department, and Trooper Sean Barnes with the Texas Highway Patrol.  The wreckage completely blocked 1276.  No citations were issued.  A heavy-duty wrecker from Clifton Chevrolet out of Corrigan was summoned to clean up the mess.  At time of press, 2:45 pm, the roadway remains blocked as the mess is being cleaned up.
