Pickup T-Bones Pickup, LIVINGSTON, December 12, 2025 - At approximately 5:18 pm on December 12, 2025, a gray 2020 Chevy pickup, driven by Barbara Renea Roberson, 62, of Lufkin, was south-bound on US-59, when a white 2019 Ford F-150 pickup, driven by Bobby Lee Akers, 33, of Goodrich, attempted to pull across the south-bound lanes from a crossover, but failed to yield to Roberson. Roberson's pickup T-boned Akers' pickup. Both vehicles came to rest in the 3749 block of 59 in the parking lot of Blackbird Tattoo Parlor. Texan EMS Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies Brandon Sanford, Dillon Dickerson, and Joey Mottu with The Polk County Sheriff's Office. Akers was physically okay, but Roberson and her passenger appeared shook up and were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A Trooper from Tyler County was dispatched to investigate the accident. Traffic on the south-bound side of 59 was temporarily blocked during vehicle recovery. Roberson's vehicle was recovered by Smith Towing out of Livingston, while Akers' vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing out of Livingston. Akers is likely facing a citation for failing to yield to Roberson.
