Motorcycle Driver Passes Away from Injuries, LEGGETT, November 28, 2025 - The driver of the motorcycle that collided with a car passed away a short time later after being flown from the scene. Anthony Holder, 44, of Woodville was north-bound on US-59 when a south-bound car attempted a left turn onto FM-942 East. The driver of the car, Rodney McDaniel, 61, of Livingston failed to yield to Holder and turned directly in front of him. Holder's Honda motorcycle slammed broad side into McDaniel's 2013 Nissan Sentra. Holder was not wearing a helmet and sustained a major head injury which he ultimately succumbed to. Rodney McDaniel is possibly facing serious charges in this accident.

Motorcycle Driver Critical After Accident, LEGGETT, November 27, 2025 - At approximately 2:13 pm on November 27, 2025, the driver of a red Honda motorcycle was north-bound on US-59. As the driver was approaching the 59/FM-942 intersection, the driver of a south-bound white 2013 Nissan Sentra attempted a left turn directly in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle broad sided the car. The motorcycle came to rest right there on the pavement. The driver of the car (no names released yet) nor his passengers were hurt. The driver of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and sustained a major head injury. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from The Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers Sean Barnes, Simon Mijares, and Cesar Davila with The Texas Highway Patrol. Livingston Volunteer Fire Department set up a landing zone of 59. The driver of the motorcycle was flown from the scene in critical condition. All traffic on 59 was blocked during investigation, cleanup, and flight operations. Both vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing out of Livingston.
