Officers from Livingston Police Department stand on 59 pondering the mess they're having to deal with.

Big Mess on 59, LIVINGSTON, November 23, 2025 - At approximately 5:45 pm on November 23, 2025, an 18 wheeler hauling steel pipes was north-bound on US-59. According to the driver, Josie Argueta, 56, of Houston, he reached to the floor area to grab a drink. Argueta's rig left the pavement to the left, took out a section of guardrail, then slammed into a highway sign support. The impact obliterated Argueta's cab and caused the huge road signs to partially collapse onto the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with The Livingston Police Department. Amazingly, Argueta was physically okay. Traffic on the north-bound side of 59 was routed to the feeder road. Argueta is likely facing a citation for failure to maintain a single lane of traffic. This accident remains under investigation by The Livingston Police Department.
