The driver of the Dodge pickup fled the scene after he got his truck stuck on the tracks and saw a train coming.
Driver Leaves Road, Lands on Tracks, Truck Gets Totaled, LIVINGSTON, November 16, 2013 - At approximately 4:15 am on November 16, 2013, the driver of a silver Dodge Ram 1500 (registered to Enrique Zavala, of Livingston) was east-bound on West Street.  As Zavala came to the end of West Street he failed to turn and went off the end of the road, up an embankment, and landed his pickup on the railroad tracks at West Street and Beatty.  The truck's rear wheels weren't touching the ground making it impossible for the driver to pull off the tracks.  The driver got out of his pickup, and noticed a train coming so he fled the scene.  The train slammed into the pickup knocking it into the grass on the west-side of the tracks.  Sergeant Darrell Newman with Livingston Police Department was dispatched to the scene and was backed up by Officers Tito Reyes and Kaleb Barker.  The accident remains under investigation as officers seek the driver (possibly Enrique Zavala).  The pickup was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
