2 Deceased, 1 Flown in Rollover Accident, CORRIGAN, October 2, 2025 - At approximately 3 am on October 2, 2025, a black Jeep SUV was south-bound on US-59. As the driver approached a highway construction area, she slammed into the plastic buffer zone on the end of the concrete barriers in the construction zone. This caused the driver to completely lose control as her Jeep rolled multiple times and came to rest upright in the south-bound lanes. During the rollover, 2 male passengers were ejected and seemingly killed on impact. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department, Corrigan Police Department, Deputies from The Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Troopers Damon Zarate and Terrence Dickens with The Texas Highway Patrol (and Troopers from Lufkin). The female driver was entrapped in her vehicle. Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to cut the door off her vehicle and carefully remove her from her vehicle. The driver was flown from the scene. Justice of the Peace, Jamie Richardson filed inquests at the scene. Both sides of 59 were completely blocked during investigation, cleanup, and flight operations. Names have not yet been released. PolkCountyToday.com will update this story as soon as more information is made available. This Accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol.
