Whipping Travel Trailer Turns Over Pickup, LIVINGSTON, September 20, 2025 - At approximately 7:51 AM on September 20, 2025, a white Dodge pickup pulling a travel trailer was north-bound on US-59. The driver decided to pass an 18 wheeler. During the pass, the travel trailer began to whip. The driver, Jean-Marie Degbill, 44, of Magnolia, lost control as the travel trailer pulled her truck on it's side and continued sliding around. The truck came to rest in an upright position facing south on the shoulder next to Camp Cho Yeh. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department and Trooper Sean Barnes with The Texas Highway Patrol. Trooper Barnes was assisted by Officer C.J. Knighton with the Livingston Police Department. Degbill was traveling with her dad and her dog, "El Chappo". There were no serious injuries, although Degbill was visibly shaken. Traffic on the north-bound side of 59 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Both the travel trailer and the pickup were recovered by Smith Towing (out of Livingston) and was assisted by Ken's Towing. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol.
