18 Wheeler Broadsides Truck, SCHWAB CITY, June 20, 2013 - At around 11:30 am on June 20, 2013, a 1999 gray Chevy Suburban driven by Allison Kristine Moore, 19, of Cleveland, was south-bound on US-146.  Moore began to make a right turn onto FM-2665 but at the last second changed her mind and turned her vehicle left leaving herself broadside for a south-bound 18 wheeler (coming behind her).  The 18 wheeler, driven by Jason Lee Messer, 33, of Nacogdoches, slammed on the brakes but couldn't avoid Moore's vehicle.  Messer's rig slid left pushing Moore's vehicle with it off to the left of the pavement.  Americare Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the South Polk County Volunteer Fire Department, Deputy Dustin Lowery with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol.  Amazingly, Moore wasn't hurt, Messer was okay, but Moore's passenger was hospitalized with minor injuries.  Traffic was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup.  According to Corporal Bass, the accident remains under investigation.  A wrecker from Fawbush Body Shop  recovered Moore's vehicle and it will be stored in Goodrich.

Special thank you:  Ken from Ken's Towing and Chris Moehlman

Corporal Ramey Bass is the investigator.
