51 year old Jeryl Jackson, of Livingston, crashed this 2017 Nissan Murano into Lake Livingston (end of 2457).

Man Crashes Into Lake Livingston, Arrested for DWI, BLANCHARD, June 18, 2025 - At approximately 10:03 pm on June 17, 2025, the driver of a red 2017 Nissan Murano was south-bound on FM-2457. As the driver approached the end of 2457, he was coming too fast. He crashed through a barrier sign and drove right into Lake Livingston. A couple of witnesses at the scene saw what happened and jumped into the lake to help. They were able to help the driver, Jeryl Jackson, 51, of Livingston, out of the lake to safety. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with The Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Simon Mijares with The Texas Highway Patrol. Jackson showed strong signs of intoxication. Trooper Mijares attempted to administer a field sobriety test on Jackson, but Jackson refused. Under Texas law, refusal means automatic arrest. Mijares placed Jackson under arrest and transported him to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital for a blood withdrawal, and then the Polk County Jail. Jackson's vehicle was recovered by Smith Towing out of Livingston.
