Rodriguez was in the right lane (the slow lane) when a red 2008 Mercury Mariner (in the left lane behind Rodriguez) drifted into Rodriguez's lane and clipped the back of Rodriguez's vehicle. This caused the Mercury (driven by Amy Duplechain, 39, of Livingston) to lose control. Duplechain's vehicle swerved left, left the pavement and began to roll (multiple times), re-entered the pavement and came to rest upright facing north. Rodriguez kept driving but returned to the scene minutes later. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, and Officers with the Livingston Police Department including Scott Paske, Sergeant Ronnie Bogany, Lieutenant David Mitchell, and Livingston Police Department Detectives. During the rollover, Duplechain was ejected. EMS personnel immediately began CPR on Duplechain, but it was not enough to save her from her injuries. Justice of the Peace, Jamie Richardson, filed an inquest at the scene. A first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home transported Amy Duplechain from the scene. Duplechain's vehicle was recovered by Dan's Towing out of Livingston. This accident remains under investigation by the Livingston Police Department.
