Name Released from Major Accident, Driver Passes Away, GOODRICH, March 19, 2025 - The name of the driver who slammed into the back of a cargo truck has been released. The driver, Ray Charles Henderson, 68, of Livingston, passed away after being flown from the scene. On March 17, Henderson slammed into the back of a cargo truck on FM-1988 West near G-Star Road. The cargo truck pulled to the shoulder with the car stuck to the back of its flat bed. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol.

Driver Slams Into Back of Cargo Truck, GOODRICH, March 17, 2025 - At approximately 3:06 pm on March 17, 2025, the driver of a black 2007 Chevy Aveo was west-bound on FM-1988 West when he slammed into the back of a west-bound heavy-duty cargo truck (near G Star Church Road). The driver of the Chevy (no names released at this time) was entrapped. Livingston and Goodrich Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene along with Allegiance Ambulance Service and Trooper Damon Zarate with the Texas Highway Patrol. Trooper Zarate was assisted by a number of other local Troopers. The driver of the cargo truck was physically okay. The driver of the Chevy was entrapped. Firemen cut into the car and were able to carefully remove the driver (in critical condition). An AirLife Air Medical helicopter landed on 1988 and flew the driver of the Chevy from the scene. All traffic on 1988 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol.
