Trooper Nick Hatton is investigating a head on collision that occurred on 190 West shortly after 6 am.

Strange Head On Collision, Both Drivers Seriously Injured, WEST TEMPE, March 9, 2025 - Shortly after 6 am on March 9, 2025, the driver of a blue 2021 Kia K5 was east-bound on US-190 West (just a few hundred yards west of the 190/3126 caution light) when the driver of a west-bound silver 2018 Nissan Maxima crossed over to the east-bound lane. The vehicles impacted eachother towards their passenger's sides. The impact caused the Kia to spin around and come to rest on the pavement facing west, while the Nissan left the pavement on the east-bound side to the left and came to rest in the grass. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department, Officers from Livingston Police Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Trooper Nick Hatton with The Texas Highway Patrol. The driver of the blue Kia (Shawn McGarry, II,33, of Onalaska) was transported by ambulance to Kingwood Hospital, while the driver of the Nissan (Jesus Brown, 45, of Crockett) was flown by Air Life Medical Helicopter to Kingwood. All traffic on 190 was blocked during investigation, flight operations, and cleanup. Jesus Brown is suspected of intoxication (alcohol). Both vehicles were recovered by Larry's Towing & Recovery and was assisted by Ken's Towing (both vehicles will be stored in Onalaska). This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol.

Special thank you: Ken with Ken's Towing
