Driver Slams Into Tree, GOODRICH, March 6, 2026 - At approximately 7:10 am on March 6, 2026, the driver of an older model maroon Chevy pickup was coming off the south-end of Loop 393 and attempted to merge onto US-59 South. The driver, Lonny Gossett, 68, of Livingston, was coming too fast for the wet road conditions and lost control. Gossett's pickup left the pavement to the right, slammed into a tree, glanced off the tree and slid to a stop in the grass. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Troopers Sean Barnes and Sergeant Ethan McAdoo with The Texas Highway Patrol. Gossett was transported to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Gossett is facing a citation for unsafe speed. His vehicle was recovered by Dan's Towing out of Livingston.
