Driver Pulling Loaded Trailer Flips Into Creek, LEGGETT, January 26, 2024 - At approximately 2:30 am on January 26, 2024, a white 2008 Ford F-450, was west-bound on FM-942 East. As the driver entered a curve (next to Leggett School), he lost control of his pickup and left the pavement to the left, crashed through a guardrail over a creek, continued into the creek where his truck and loaded trailer flipped. The driver, Jose Alfredo Villagrana, 42, of Spring crawled out of the wreckage from his displaced windshield and up out of the creek bed. Troopers Simon Mijares and Nick Hatton were dispatched. Amazingly, Villagrana had no injuries and was physically okay. The truck and loaded trailer were in the creek, contents spilled. Traffic on 942 was completely blocked for investigation and extensive cleanup. A heavy-duty wrecker from Smith Towing out of Livingston was sent for to clean up the mess. Villagrana was issued a citation for unsafe speed.
