56 year old Tammie Ann Smith, of Corrigan, was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital.
Street Sweeper Struck from Behind, Woman Hospitalized, LEGGETT, January 4, 2021 - At approximately 8:45 am on January 4, 2021, a street sweeper vehicle, driven by a land fill employee, was east-bound on FM-942 West (next to the land fill).  The sweeper was struck from behind by a white Ford F-150, driven by Juan Alanis, 78, of Goodrich.  The impact pushed the sweeper off the road and to into the grass on the right side of the pavement.  Alanis' vehicle came to rest on the pavement.  Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Troopers Kevin Burman and Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol.  The driver of the sweeper, Tammie Ann Smith, 56, of Corrigan, was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.  Alanis was cited for failure to control speed.
