Morbid Twist in 7 Oaks Fire Story, SEVEN OAKS, February 17, 2026 - In a morbid twist to the fire that occurred this morning (02/17/26), a body was found in the burned out 7 Oaks Inn at the north end of the building. Detectives and Deputies from The Polk County Sheriff's Office taped off the area with crime tape and converged in the north end of the building remains where the body of a black male was found. A first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home transported the body from the scene. PolkCountyToday.com will update this story when more information is made available.
Deputies and Detectives carry the deceased person (in a body bag) out of the building.
