5 pm Spent 20 mintues on the treadmill at the SweatShop Gym.  Afterwards Carla "Cruel Girl" Mangrum dogged the class in a 30 minute aerobic session that made me drop out in the last minute (Well, also Precious Angel added extra risers to my aerobic platform so now I was stepping twice as high as the previous days).  I weighed myself at the gym and I'm stuck on 290 lbs. for some reason.  I really don't care because I know that if I stay consistent, the results I'm looking for will come to me (it's simple science).

7 pm had more fresh garden peas (purple hull peas, thank you Deb) and two grilled pork chops (left overs from night before) and....1 piece of fried chicken, a couple of glasses of grape juice.

Saw my neighbor, Christine, going to her mailbox and said hello.  She cheered me on (Thanx Christine :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

June 16, 2009 - CARLA IS CRUEL.  Okay, for breakfast I had the usual oatmeal mixture.  At lunch I had some absolutely delicious home made dill pickle spears (thank you, Deb Allen).  Throughout work day I consumed around 4 bottles of water and 2 small plastic bottles of orange juice.

5 pm Went to SweatShop Gym and worked chest and back muscles.  5:30 pm Carla's torture class (high impact bench aerobics).  I challenge ANY tough guy in Polk County who thinks aerobics is for sissys to come to Carla's class and we'll see just how much of man you are (nevermind....don't even try because you'd look like a fool and probably hurt yourself).

7:30 pm had a bowl of beans with fresh chopped onions and shredded cheese sprinkled on top, followed by a ham sandwich on whole wheat bread with cheese and mayonaise (real mayonaise) and spicy mustard and a glass of cran apple juice.

-------------------------------------------------------------

June 15, 2009 - Had oatmeal mixture for breakfast.  At work had several small bottles of mixed berry juice and some grapes and strawberries for lunch.  5:30 worked legs at the SweatShop Gym (60 squats...simple but very effective overall).  Squats are referred to as the King of Weightlifting Exercises.  They require a lot of strength from all over, work the legs and buttox muscles very well, and raise your body's metabolism more than any other exercise.  When you raise your body's metabolism, it makes your body a much more effective fat burning machine.

6:30 pm Ate 2 ham sandwiches for dinner (on whole wheat bread with cheese and had more fruit juice).  Gave a few bites to Mixi.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

June 14, 2009 - After morning church Precious Angel invited me to lunch at El Burito (Can't turn that down!).  I had diet coke and consumed a fajita combo plate which consists of chicken and beef fajitas, guacamole, and sour cream.  Sigh...(I caved in to the chips and salsa again) D'oh!

7:30 pm, took family to El Taquito for lunch.  I had a 10 oz ribeye with a small amount of rice and some pinto beans.  The part I slipped up on was on the chips and salsa.  Oh well, I just have to keep trying.  I'll be back in the gym tommorrow.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

June 11, 2009 - Oatmeal mixture for breakfast.  Lunchtime had grilled chicken.  5 pm spent 15 minutes on the treadmill at the SweatShop Gym, followed by aerobic session led by instructor Carla Mangrum.  Any guys out there who thinks aerobics is for sissys, best stay out.  Aerobics is a high intensity sustained cardivascular workout and if you don't know what you're doing you can hurt yourself.

7:30 pm had 3 pieces of deer sausage on wheat bread with cheese and a large glass of cran-grape juice.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

June 10, 2009 - Had oatmeal mixture for breakfast.  For lunch I had 2 pieces of baked white meat chicken, yellow squash, and dirty rice.  5 pm went to SweatShop Gym and worked shoulder and arm muscles.  7 pm had baked pork steak, navy bean salad, and 2 glasses of fruit juice (hmmmm, I need to back off on the juice).  Everything going a-okay.  Feeling great.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

June 9, 2009 - Had oatmeal mixture for breakfast.  Had a busy lunch and skipped it.  5 pm blasted chest muschles and back muscles (that means I lifted weights at the SweatShop Gym).  5:30 pm, had intense 30 minute aerobic session with instructor Carla Mangrum.  I weighed myself and I put on 2 pounds.  I probably need to back off on the fruit juice and start drinking more bottled water.  7 pm, had 2 broiled hamburger patties on wheat buns with swiss cheese and 2 glasses of cran-grape juice for dinner.  I might start weighing myself once a week (obviously a watched pot never boils).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

June 8, 2009 - Had oatmeal breakfast.  skipped lunch.  5 o'clock went to cover big news story.  9 o'clock left that scene to cover another big story.  Never got a chance to go to the gym.  Got home around midnight.  Had about 3 glasses of grape juice, and some yucca that my wife had prepared.  Worked on stories to 4:30 am went to bed.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
June 7, 2009 - Skipped breakfast again.  After church had leftover pea salad and 1 grilled pork rib.

6 pm went to SweatShop Gym and worked legs (60 squats).  It's a simple workout, but it's a very effective workout and squats raises your body's metabolism.  Weighed in again at SweatShop and I seem to be stuck on 290 lbs.  That's okay, next aerobic session Carla will take care of that (This Tuesday at 5:30 pm as the SweatShop if you're interested).

7:30 pm had oatmeal mixture.  I'm feeling a lot healthier now that I've been eating smarter and regularly exercising (happens every time).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

June 6, 2009
- Skipped breakfast today and had grilled pork and pea salad for lunch.  Around 5pm had oatmeal mixture.

6:30 pm worked out at the SweatShop Gym.  Worked arm muscles and shoulders.

7 pm had a large glass of grape juice.

Forgot to weigh myself on the SweatShop's doctor scales.  But considering that I had a healthy portion of grilled pork with pea salad, I'm probably still stuck on 290 lbs.

June 5, 2009 - Oatmeal breakfast.  Precious Angel brought 2 smallish bran muffins to my office that she had baked so I had to eat 'em (they were delicious :), 4 cups of coffee at work

Lunch time, skipped lunch (too tired from being up late the night before, chose to nap instead).

5 pm, lifted weights at The SweatShop gym.  Worked the chest and back muscles. Weighed in at 290 lbs (same as day before).

7 pm, ate corn with black beans and roast with 2 glasses of grape juice.

June 4, 2009 - Oatmeal breakfast.  4 cups of black coffee at work.  Lunch had some low calorie popcorn puffs shared with me by a co-worker.

5 pm went to SweatShop gym and worked out legs by doing 60 squats.  After leg workout, went to aerobics class had a very intense aerobic workout directed by Professional Aerobic Instructor Carla Mangrum.  The aerobic workout was tough because the squats made the muscles in my lower back tighten up causing pain and messing up my form.

After aerobics weighed myself and weighed in a 290 (that's 15 lbs lost in the first 3 days of my 3 month challenge).

At home had generous helping of white hominy cooked with carrots and chicken and 2 glasses of grape juice.

June 3, 2009 - Usual oatmeal breakfast.  I usually have around 4 cups of black coffee at work (no sugar or creamer).  Lunch had 1.5 ounce box of raisins.  Throughout workday I drink bottled water (I've been drinking bottled water at work for several years).

5 pm - Went to SweatShop gym lifted weights to work shoulders and arms.  Weighed in at the gym (still 295 lbs.)

7 pm - Dinner 3 thin slices of steak broiled in the oven with 2 glasses of grape juice.

June 2, 2009 - Oatmeal mixture (same breakfast everyday)  See June 1 below for details on oatmeal breakfast.  That's one healthy thing I've been doing for over 2 years now.

Lunch, too busy purchasing new aerobic shoes.  Had no time to eat.

5 pm went to SweatShop gym.  Did mild weight lifting working chest muscles and back muscles.

5:30 pm 30 minute aerobic session with instructor Carla Mangrum.  The aerobic class was tough to finish but I did complete it without stopping at any time during the workout.  Afterwards I weighed myself on the scales at the SweatShop and weighed in at 295 (a nice start considering the day before I weighed 304...it's nice to be below 300 again).

7 pm, had small amount of green salad, small amount of white rice, small amount of mashed potatoes.

June 1, 2009 -
Breakfast 1 heaping cup of oatmeal thrown into blender with 1 banana, 6 ice cubes, 2% milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar (blend for 1 - 2 minutes).  Pour over bran flakes and eat (it's actually pretty sweet and is also a healthy breakfast...except for the sugar part...but hey).

Lunch, had Mushroom Swiss Burger from Burger King with fries and diet coke.  (Wont be doing that anymore).

Dinner had stir fry chicken with vegetables.

7 pm went to SweatShop gym and did some squats and treadmill about 5 minutes.
