LUFKIN, February 18, 2010 - As many industries around the country continue to scale back on employee ratios, Memorial Health System of East Texas is actively seeking qualified individuals to join the specialized team of nurse and allied health professionals. Thursday, February 18 from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Memorial Health System of East Texas invites area RNs, LVNs, Respiratory Therapists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists to take a first hand look at the facility and meet hospital leadership from specific departments.
The Nurse and Allied Health Professional Career Fair will be located in the lobby of the Cardiovascular and Stroke Center at Memorial Health System of East Texas. In addition to meeting one-on-one with departmental staff, the Center will showcase the new state-of-the-art ICU accommodations.
"The recent opening of the Cardiovascular and Stroke Center doubled the Intensive Care Unit's (ICU) capacity. With that move, Memorial Specialty Hospital, a long term acute care unit, is expanding into the ICU's former location," said Cindy Christie, Nurse Recruiter at Memorial Health System of East Texas. "The expansions are not only a benefit to patients but to health care professionals. We are able to open up many new positions and want qualified individuals to have an opportunity to speak with hospital personnel directly."
