Local High School Student Accepted Into Elite and Prestigious Drum and Bugle Corps, LIVINGSTON, February 20, 2008 - Joshua Schmidt, a senior at Livingston High School had auditioned and was accepted in the World Class Drum and Bugle Corps., the Glassmen, as one of 10 tubas.  The Glassmen are members of Drum Corps International which has member corps from all corners of the United States and Canada.  The Glassmen are in the premier division of World Class Corps. The Glassmen have been finalists at the Drum Corps. International Finals for the last 10 years, finishing as high as fourth.  The Glassmen are based in Toledo, Ohio.  The Glassmen will tour the United States for the months of June and July cumulating in the World Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana the first weekend in August.  Joshua is planning on attending Stephen F. Austin University this fall, majoring in Music Education, with a minor in music performance.
