Hit and Run Suspect Apprehended, LIVINGSTON, February 4, 2008 - According to DPS Trooper Robert Acres a hit and run was reported today at approximately 5:20 pm on Highway 190. Christi Marie Phillips, 27, was west bound on 190 when her white 1997 Jeep Cherokee was allegedly struck from behind by Eddie Allen Chapman, 23, of Livingston. Phillips proceeded to a nearby gas station and local law enforcement was summoned. Polk County Sheriff, Ken Hammack and a deputy was on the scene, along with an ambulance from Americare Ambulance service. There was also a 3 year old child occupant with Phillips when the alleged hit and run occurred. EMS personnel were there to make sure Phillips and the young boy were not injured. According to Sheriff Hammack, Chapman was apprehended by local law enforcement a short time later on 190 West near Lake Livingston. Chapman was taken to Polk County Jail and booked in.
