100 YEARS

Otto Hawkins will turn 100 years old on January 28, 2010

Mr. Otto Hawkins will turn 100 years Old on Thursday January the 28th. Mr. Hawkins will celebrate his 100th with friends and family at his home in Livingston.

Mr. Hawkins Moved to the Polk County area over eighty years ago with his family from Arkansas. Upon moving to the Livingston area he joined First United Methodist Church where he has been a member for almost eighty years. Soon after he married Willouise  his wife of 68 years. Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins have two children daughter Ann and husband Dude of Livingston and son Otto Hawkins Jr. and wife Bonnie also of Livingston. They have five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Throughout his many years in Livingston he has been very active in the community and in the Methodist Church. He served in the US Air Force as an airplane mechanic, upon completion in the service he moved back to Livingston where he worked building homes in the Livingston area. Mr. Hawkins has been a member of the Masonic lodge for 78 years. Mr. Hawkins worked in the sawmill business for many years until his retirement, where he has enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He has always remained active having several small projects going all the time. If you ask him what he was doing he would always say "Just piddlin". That piddlin he talked about usually meant he had been at his shop rebuilding lawnmowers wood working or working out at the farm. Mr. Hawkins has always put his faith and family first, living a fruitful life and inspiring many along the way.  Happy 100th Birthday  Mr. Hawkins.
